One month til Intro to Psychoanalysis continues!
Next class Saturday, February 7th
Looking forward to seeing you all for the next installment of An Introduction to Psychoanalysis on Saturday, February 7th. We’ll meet for 2 hours online at 9AM Vancouver/ 12PM noon NYC/ 5PM London/ 18:00 Stockholm/ 19:00 Beirut. Class will be recorded and archived here at Substack, so don’t worry if you aren’t able to attend live.
We’ll be discussing the work of early student of Freud, Otto Rank, as well as early collaborator Sándor Ferenczi. We’ll also take a look at Freud’s paper on the Family Romance and his case studies, Little Hans and The Rat Man, all from 1909. Readings can be found in the Google Drive (link below the paywall).
Please note: you are not expected to read everything. Some of the papers are long. I’m providing them for your reference and will cover the major points in class.
In the meantime, you may catch up with past CLASSES HERE, including M.E. O’Brien’s reading of Freud’s Family Romance through a contemporary trans-affirming lens.
