One month till Intro to Psychoanalysis begins!
Course launches September 13th!
Hi everyone
I’m happy to say An Introduction to Psychoanalysis starts one month from today!
We begin meeting on Saturday, September 13th. We will meet for 2 hours online at 9AM Vancouver/ 12PM noon NYC/ 5PM London/ 18:00 Stockholm/ 19:00 Beirut.
Classes will always be held on Saturdays. This course consists of 12 sessions, running once a month from September 2025 to September 2026. We will not be meeting in January, as I will be away on a writing retreat.
For this first class on September 13th, I will present on Freud’s early development and the Zeitgeist of the times culturally and politically in which he grew up, came of age, and began his studies at university. We will take a look at Freud’s time working with Charcot and the influence it had on his work, and delve into Freud’s early work with Breuer, Studies on Hysteria (1895). We will also touch upon Freud’s correspondence with Fliess and its function as a self-analysis, which will lead us into the next class where we’ll begin with The Interpretation of Dreams (1900).
