In this second class, we focused on Freud’s correspondence with Fliess, leading to his seminal work The Interpretation of Dreams (1900). We specifically looked at the dream of “Irma’s Injection” and reviewed Freud’s other major works from this period that lay the foundation for psychoanalysis, including Screen Memories (1899) and The Psychopathology of Everyday Life (1901). I made sure there was plenty of time for free association and discussion of dreams. Thanks for your thoughtful comments and questions!
